A Word From The Keeper
About five years ago, I fell in love with reading again — and I have #booktok to thank for it. Somewhere along the algorithm, I learned that book recommendations from total strangers on the internet can be quietly life-changing, and that there is a whole community of people out there who love exactly the books I love.
Then I went looking for them. None of the titles #booktok was passing around — the dark romances, the romantasies, the spine-cracking fantasies — could be found anywhere on the shelves of my local bookstores. From that small frustration, a whole dream took root: the perfect bookshop, where the booktok community could come together, meet each other, find new authors, and buy the books we were already whispering about — in the most beautiful, magical, slightly whimsical setting I could imagine.
that dream is now Purple Petals.
